Heat Treating & Hardness Test
All blades are heat treated in an electric knife kiln with precise heat control. I have a gas forge available for certain steels. My tried and tested heat treat process ensures a perfect hardness on each blade. Double tempering of every blade to exact temperatures produces a tough and durable knife. Each stage is tested “in house” on an electric Rockwell hardness testing machine to make sure the correct hardness is achieved. The final check makes sure the blade is between 59-60 HRC.
